  • Editor-in-Chief, Society for Technical Communication’s Research Journal, Technical Communication (2020-2025)

  • Designed the first Flower’s Hall Usability Lab and led graduate students in the M.A. in Technical Communication Internship Course for 20 years, managing graduate student UX projects for the City of San Marcos' IT Department, the Houston Health Department, including several projects for the Bureau of Pollution Control and Prevention (BPCP), Texas State University's IT Assistance Center (ITAC), Office of Sponored Research, Office of the Provost, and Government Partnerships Program.

  • Co-authored Texas State's successful Emerging Research University proposal (2011-2012) as Presidential Fellow under the direction of the President, securing access to state research funding and Texas Research Incentive Program (TRIP) support.

  • Edited the successful Phi Beta Kappa Application (2021-2022) for clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness, contributing to Texas State University's achievement in bringing this prestigious honor society to campus.

  • Edited Texas State University Campus Master Plan (2017) for the Associate Vice President for Finance and Support Services Planning, contributing to the university's comprehensive physical development strategy.

  • Edited the Computer Science PhD Program Proposal (2015) for the Office of the Provost at Texas State University, contributing to the successful expansion of the university's doctoral offerings.

  • Served as Director of the Master of Arts in Technical Communicaton Program (2013-2018) mentoring and advising hundreds of students toward matriculation, graduation, and career advancement.

  • Over eight years, progressed through multiple leadership roles at the Texas Department of Health and Human Services Commission agencies, including Program Administrator (Manager of Regulation Editors), Policy Specialist, and Program Specialist, where I led comprehensive policy implementation initiatives, oversaw regulation development projects, managed cross-functional teams, and specialized in technical writing, policy editing, and regulatory compliance while also serving in direct service positions as a Licensing Representative conducting health and safety investigations and as an Eligibility Specialist managing client cases.

  • Over a six-month contract, successfully secured nearly $400,000 in external funding for Huston-Tillotson University through four competitive grants: the $100,000 Hearst Foundation Scholarship providing direct financial assistance to students pursuing their education; the $99,000 UNCF Professional Development Grant that trained faculty on utilizing the BlackBoard learning management system to enhance instruction; the $50,000 "Reaching Back to Discover" partnership with 3M that established a digital humanities project and museum documenting Central Texas history and culture; and the $142,000 UNCF Technology Grant that funded a new telecommunications system upgrading the university's communication infrastructure.
